Digging up the past /
Kevin Rollason writing at The Winnipeg Free Press:
A portion of the rails the city's streetcars ran on decades ago is being pulled up for street reconstruction at Broadway and Osborne Street and given to Winnipeg Streetcar 356, with hopes someday it can be put into a museum devoted to streetcars.
It's too bad the best we can do is commemorate streetcars in museums, I'd rather see them in use.
The wonderful Assiniboine bike path /
You can't see but there are two city workers in the truck. I scowled at them and took this photo as I dismounted my bike so I could get around them.
"Don't cry!"
They yelled as I walked my bike around on to the sidewalk.
How Oil Prices Affect the Economy /
A video excerpt from Jeremy Rifkin's recent book The Third Industrial Revolution: How Lateral Power Is Transforming Energy, the Economy, and the World, which I haven't read but am definitely adding to my list.
